Fourth Economy believes in supporting the next generation of leaders through our internship program. We are looking for creative and driven individuals who want to learn while working directly on real
We make an effort to assign interns to work on projects that fits with their interests and skill sets. However, because we are a small and dynamic firm, interns are expected to be flexible and have general research and writing skills.
Interns will also be given the opportunity to participate in other meetings or events that match their interests when appropriate. All interns will write one blog post per month on a relevant topic of their choosing and have the opportunity to consult with Fourth Economy employees on publishing a whitepaper on topics of interest. For more information on the types of work we do please see our What We Offer area.
Fourth Economy accepts interns in the fall, spring, and summer and will work with interns to accommodate their schedules. Depending on the needs of the firm and the intern, internships can last from 3 – 12 months for 8 – 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 during the summer and when semester schedules accommodate a more full-time schedule. Though we are flexible, we do demand reliability. We are a small firm, often working on tight deadlines, and need to be able to count on interns fulfilling the time commitments to which they’ve agreed.
Our office is located on Pittsburgh’s North Shore. We feel that the ability of interns to work from our office enriches both their own and our experience. However, interns may also work from home/campus when necessary. Internships at Fourth Economy offer the chance to work with a young and dynamic firm that practices a comprehensive and progressive approach to economic and community development. No filing or making coffee – just great, real-world experience.
We offer a competitive wage rate for our interns that is based on experience and ability to contribute.
