Comprehensive Housing Strategy

City of Lorain, OH
Economic Strategy

Positioned along the edge of Lake Erie between Cleveland and Toledo, Lorain is a small city with big city housing challenges. An aging housing stock, limited rental and affordable housing options, a constrained housing market, and a need to address blighted properties are just some of the housing-related issues the city is addressing through an updated Comprehensive Housing Strategy.

This Comprehensive Housing Strategy provides essential data and insights into the local housing market. The primary purpose is to guide the use of federal housing and community development funds allocated through Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs. Project components include a housing market analysis, housing assessment, blight analysis, stakeholder engagement, strategy development, and implementation framework.
